Looks like Yahoo is finally going to be changing the look of the portal. After years of using the same interface i feel this design is a refreshing change, and by the looks of it the interface will be simular to the beta Yahoo mail.

So MSN now Yahoo are making major design changes, will Google follow suit?, i hope not. Googles simple design is what has given Google the differance with the other search engines.

Google Maps has now been updated in Europe to show street maps in the following countries: France (http://maps.google.fr/) Germany (http://maps.google.de/) Italy (http://maps.google.it/) and Spain (http://maps.google.es/).

Google Calendar has gone live, it seems to be running very slow as I write this, this is probably due to influx of users signing up to it.

The layout is familiar to users of Google products such as Gmail. It has some nice features such as friends invite in which you can either let them invite more people or just let them view the guest list.

Reported by the BBC News. Talk Talk by Carphone Warehouse are to be giving away broadband to its customers. Its not reported if its to exsiting customers or new ones, but i would think its just the new ones as loyal custom doesnt get much return these days. As the Talk Talk website is down at the moment and is advertising a new website launch this week (Tuesday 11th April) i would have guessed that would be the same time as the launch of the free ADSL.

OK, so it has been months since i last posted, ok it was last year.

In that time i have lots of things stopping me, but the main one is work.

I have been working for Google (freelance) since early last year, but at the beginning of this year i have put Google 2nd best and only work for them at weekends in favour of a company called Big Agency.

One of the main clients and sister company is Great Hotels Organisation which also provide Great Hotels of the World, of which i do all of the front-end code.

The projects i am working on are very demanding but worthy as they will be pushing the limits of what is already out online. Hopefully they will be turning some heads as soon as they are ready for public beta. My favourite has to be the Hotel booking engine G-rez, which will be a fully interactive one screen solution to booking all parts of the Hotels, this will be run on the front end with some snazzy AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML).

Google have launched a beta of a Blog searching tool.

With the release of Driv3r last year Reflections sold a bucket load on the back of the previous two games, but unfortunately Driv3r was a flawed game that although made its money in sales has also lost its audience with the series. It seems that by first look Reflections has taken this into account with their next title. Driver : Parallel Lines.

Driver: Parallel Lines looks to be going back to its roots, with the game being more involved with the driving rather than running around the levels. Reflections also seem to be taking some ideas from Rockstar Games Grand theft Auto series by having a garage to save your cars in as well as some upgrade options. Driver: Parallel Lines is set in New York in the late seventies, a decade that hasn’t been explored in the recent Grand theft auto games, but will it be good enough competition for Rockstar to be worried about?..
